Alfredo Tímermans - Participant

Alfredo Timermans is currently the CEO of Telefónica Internacional USA, leading Telefónica’s representation both in New York City and in Washington D.C.

Mr. Timermans joined Telefónica in 2005, and has held several roles during his tenure, including Telecom Policy Director and Operations Coordinator, working primarily in the areas of Public Policy, Regulatory Affairs, and Communications. 

Prior to joining Telefónica, Mr. Timermans held various political positions in Spain. From 1996-2004, he served as a Senior Political Adviser and Spokesperson for the Prime Minister of Spain, José María Aznar, Director General of FAES (Fundacion para el Análisis y los Estudios Sociales)  and  a strategic  and political advisor to the Partido Popular (PP).

Throughout his career, he has worked in the public and private sectors, including at the Complutense University in Madrid, from where he graduated with a degree in law, and served as General Counsel at Agrocaixa, S.A.  Mr. Timermans is married and has four children.
